Smoked Salmon, Lentils & Garlic Dip Bowl
So, I work in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) space and I LOVE trying new products. My passion is for supporting Founders in the space (because this industry is really, really daunting, great…but daunting) so I created a cohort of experts who believe in the “No Asshole” policy and a heart-forward mentality when it comes to support and expertise called The CPG Co-Op.
Here’s a fun fact, I use to really hate salmon. Seriously I would go out with my best friend Kari and when she would order salmon I would gag. It’s not a little known fact how FANTASTIC salmon is for you so I set out on quest to try to like it. First, I started with Scottish Salmon from Central Market. The key here is to slow roast it. Say in a 275 degree over for about 45 minutes. This keeps it less fishy and more delicious. I smother it with lemon juice and some garlic powder right when it comes out of the oven and it’s delicious.
So with the delicious salmon under my belt, I started consuming smoked salmon Scottish style from HEB. Then, I had this idea for a delicious bowl in my mind, which gets back to my intro. I found a DELICIOUS garlic dip at CostCo called Toom Garlic Dip (we need that Garlic in a plushie format too). Oh my gosh, what is this stuff? It’s like a fluffy garlic and lemon cloud? Whatever it is, you can slather it on anything. ANYTHING. So, this really isn’t a recipe but more of an idea for a bowl. I took the above mentioned Scottish Salmon, fresh Campari tomatoes, mini cucumbers, my own special blend of hemp, chia and flax seeds, cooked lentils, fresh dill and chives all into a bowl and then placed a dollop of this Toom stuff. It was WOW good. And I’m still full hours later.
Husband and I agree this is moving into daily lunch rotation. Has anyone else tried Toom? Give me more ideas!
